Privacy, in plain language.
Your documents are read on your device. Folio has no account, advertising SDK, analytics SDK or document upload service. This Android build requests no Internet permission.
Who provides Folio
Folio is provided by Aqsaq Studio. For help or privacy questions, contact aqsoft.soft@gmail.com.
Documents and reading information
When you choose a file, Folio copies it into its private app storage so it remains available in your library. It stores document names, file types, import and open times, reading positions, favorites and PDF bookmarks on your device. It also creates local preview images and temporary files used for viewing and sharing.
A file selected from a cloud provider may be downloaded by that provider before Folio receives it. That provider handles its own account, network connection and privacy practices.
Passwords and protected files
On supported Android devices, you can enter the correct password to read a protected PDF. Folio does not save entered PDF passwords in its library index. Password support does not remove the original document's access restrictions.
Sharing documents
When you choose Share, Folio makes an export copy in app cache and opens Android's share sheet. The recipient you choose receives temporary access to that copy. The receiving app or service handles the document under its own privacy practices. Folio does not send documents to a developer-controlled server.
Permissions and device services
Folio uses Android's system file picker and temporary file access grants. It does not request broad storage access, location, contacts, microphone or camera access. Native Android PDF services process supported PDF files on the device. Android cloud backup is disabled for this build.
Removing files and keeping backups
Removing a document from Folio removes its imported library copy and reading entry. Your original source file stays with its original provider. Temporary exported copies may remain in app cache until Android clears that cache or you clear app storage. Copies previously sent to another app remain with that recipient.
Clearing Folio's storage or uninstalling the app removes its private library. Keep separate copies of important documents.
Children's privacy
Folio has no registration flow and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app is a general-purpose document viewer.
Changes to this policy
This policy will be updated when Folio's document handling, permissions or included software changes. The effective date above identifies the current policy.
